So I had a look at the bard spell list. At least just up to 3rd or 4th level. And I couldn't find spiritual weapon on there. I really liked the idea of playing the flute and the weapon flew around hitting people. Now it's not so much the version of the game itself or the spell itself or anything for that matter but would there be an easy way to still have the floating weapon, but for a bard. Now tbh I'm playing 3e at the moment. Haven't gotten around to 5e and didn't start so long ago either. But maybe the spell is there in 5e for bards? But if anyone out there has some interesting ideas to fix this, It would be most appreciated!
Animate Objects could do what you want, though you're going to need a bunch of extra swords to really get the most out of that spell.
Imagine some thug or other waltzing up to your bard in the tavern, laden with swords as they are, acting tough.
"Buddy, I hear they call you Joey Eight Swords? That's stupid. You're stupid. What's a fella need eight swords for? Your pants are gonna fall down if you stand. You can't use all those swords."
And your tenth level bard just smiles smugly, saying a small thank you to the gods (the DM). Joey's moment has finally arrived.
Also you're right, Zan, it's called Magical Secrets. Typical bard doesn't get that feature until level 10, but if you take lore bard, you can get an extra Magical Secrets early at level 6, at which point I'm fairly sure you'd have the spell slot power to cast spiritual weapon.

With the bardic Magical Secrets you can grab Spiritual Weapon for yourself
(the feature might not be called magical secrets, I don’t remember and I don’t have the book in front of me to check)
I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?
