Last night I got the idea to use some tweak on “Heat of the Moment” for Heat Metal.... still toying with lyrics. Something like, “It was the heat in the metal, burning the hilt in your grasp, the heat of the metal, your armor burns...” Meh, not sure yet.

"Get your bow and start running, heading straight for that guy. Notch your arrow now and you're gonna let it fly! Yeah, right now anything can happen. Gonna take that monster down a notch! Fire all of your arrows at once and they'll explode in his face! Like a true warrior's child, you were born, born to go wild! You can fly so high! This monster's gonna die! Born to kick butt!"
I came up with this just today. I can't use it though. I rolled a rogue. Not a bard... but right now I really wish I'd rolled a bard!
The best song to parody for bardic inspiration is Chicago's You're the Inspired. Ex. "You need a D6 in your life, bardic inspired. Pretty much any line of that song works though
Hi! I'm playing a rogue/bard multiclass, and I am absolutely shit at songwriting! Are there any existing songs that I could sing in the vein of tavern songs, and battle ballads? She has a military background so it seems thematically appropriate. All the songs I know are from my elementary days in the Sun School choir and some Queen songs.
"Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality. Open your eyes, look up to the sky and seeeeee..."
*Actually causes landslide, crushes the listener*

It doesn't matter what bard you are, Ragnar the Red will fit in.
"Baby you're a firework, make that motherf-er hurt. Make him go ow ow ow, as his entrails hit the ground ound ound"

I try and write a song after each session recounting the events. I am also far too polite to inflict actual singing on my co-players, though.
Sometimes it's an original like this Dwarven drinking song:
Oh the Wagon’s rolled on, towards Dead Orc Pass
And as for Dark Shadow, well he can kiss my arse
(Dark Shadow can kiss my arse!)
We stopped at a Bothy, for there was much to do
Like meeting our scouts, and a disciplinary review
(A disciplinary review!)
Well I keep my hands, and sing songs of good cheer
But for brave Thergar, we all shed a tear
(For Thergar we shed a tear!)
He died a heroes death, before he met the end
3 huking Orcs, to their graves he did send
And in grace, Baline survived the fight
A toast! To Baline Longmine’s Might!
(A Toast to Longmine’s might!)
Balor and some braves came to find his daughter
And was confronted by the signs of slaughter
Fearing the worst, they search for a spell
And find Baline, alive if not well
(She’s alive, but not so well!)
Baline was healed, she was good to go
For now it time to again face the foe
In thergar’s name, more Orc blood must be spilled
As surely as a Dwarve’s mug must be filled!
(Oh a Dwarve’s mug must be filled!)
Wave after wave, the foul Orcs came
But each Orc’s fate, it was the same
Through sword and glaive and magical fire
Those foul Orcs died from Thergar’s ire
(Yes, they died from Thergar’s ire!)
Now the wagons roll and the Orc horns blare
And one fact remains that I must share
Now I’m not one to pad with hokum
But the Orc purses were Bugbear’s scrotum!
(They were made from Bugbear’s scrotum!)
Sometimes it's a parody, like this:
You can't stand it, you know I planned it
I'm gonna set it straight, this Balder’s Gate
I look like an Ork when I'm in here
So your crystal ball ain't so crystal clear
So you sit back and wonder why
You got this f***ing bolt in your side
Oh my God, it's a mirage
And the Key is going back to Karag Var
So, so, so, so listen up 'cause I got some facts
You'll shut us down with a swing of your axe?
But no, You’re down and We’re gone
I'll tell you now, We even got your horn
'Cause what you see you might not get
And you can bet, we ain’t beat yet
You're scheming on a thing but you won’t get far
‘Case it’s going back to Karag Var

My bard is directly based on Christine Guldbrandsen, so I have a bunch of her songs picked out for various occasions.
Enthralling Performance: Elf Dance or Dancing Dress
For sadder performances: Fly Away or The Day Never Comes
Inspiration: Break My Chains
Song of Rest: Journey's Song
Sleep: Dreams or Hourglass
Unseen Servant: Invisible Friend
Hypnotic Pattern: Colors
She has a lot of other songs that sound right at home in a DnD game, but these are the ones I use for the most specific purposes.
Just a dysfunctional girl addicted to fantasy because I’m tired of living in reality
