It looks like Jack of All Trades no longer includes your Initiative - unless this is just a bug in DnD Beyond. I am playing around in the character creator and everything got a boost from JoaT except Initiative. Was this ever explained anywhere?
Under the 2024 rules, Jack Of All Trades is explicitly applied to skills you lack proficiency in, not ability checks
2014:
Starting at 2nd level, you can add half your proficiency bonus, rounded down, to any ability check you make that doesn’t already include your proficiency bonus.
2024:
You can add half your Proficiency Bonus (round down) to any ability check you make that uses a skill proficiency you lack and that doesn’t otherwise use your Proficiency Bonus.
This was intentional and it affects things such as Counterspell and contested ability checks for Telekinesis. bards created using the 2014 rules should have the initiative boost still. You might need to use the basic rules if you don't have the 2014 Players Handbook
Albeit there is a general removal of contested ability checks mainly in the rules revamp. Main exception that comes to mind is dispel magic's spellcasting ability check. Some exist via skill ability checks (web) for escaping or ending grapples so on.
