Anywho, what has been your favorite way a DM has made your deity show up/interact with your character? Or what has been your favorite way you've done so as a DM? :)
I mean for ways like you cast divination/commune/etc and how the answer manifested, omens the deit(ies) have given you, etc. Personal example in the spoiler.
So my shifter cleric's god is the god of the therianthrope folks in this setting. We were on a ship, trying to get around a magical island that was like parts of the elemental plane showed up and collided with each other in the material plane and formed it. Other players had tried treading the waters, as the goal is to get to the other side of it and explore. They died in a rogue wave and henceforth everyone decided that going into the water was a nono. We decided to anyway and the predictable happened lol. We got attacked by blistercoil weirds and ended up getting lost on the seas and our map was destroyed (as well as our ship). I was an 8th level cleric so I got to cast divination and ask my deity which way was the way to the outpost on the island.
The DM described how my ration offerings I gave got violently eaten and I heard lots of animalistic eating sounds as a poem/riddle (written in Worg/Giant, can't remember) was scratched into the crow's nest I was sitting in. We got back to the Outpost. :D The best part about this is that the DM had very little to go off of, as I hadn't put much of anything of what the deity looked like or manifested as in the docs about the region the therianthrope folks are from (This was lore for the oneshot server I run on and all the DMs had to make lore for the world). So I was so impressed with what he came up with! I had another experience like this whilst casting Commune with him with a different PC, but alas my memory is shit and I can't properly recollect what happened to share with y'all. :(
