Heyo! I'm in a new campaign and chose Blood Hunter Order of the Mutant for some fun RP. However... our party has noooooo healer. All martial fighters.
Was originally going to take 2 levels in Wizard for Bladesinging and some shield goodness(DEX build), but is there a Cleric domain that'd work well with Blood Hunter?
A group of Martial people will get the most of their healing from Hit Dice on a short rest, what you need is someone to prevent death in combat, not necessarily a healer.
If it needs to be a cleric, and if it is specifically for healing, Life Domain or Grave Domain, with 2 levels each, is probably the best options to consider.
If you are only using Cleric spells for buffs/heals, your WIS score will not need to super high (there's no Attack Roll or Save DC with spells that target your allies). Apparently, your Hemocraft save DC [= 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Hemocraft modifier (your choice between Intelligence or Wisdom)] would benefit from a higher WIS, so if that's available to bump, that can help your main class as well.
WIS will help Clerics prepare more spells, and increase heals given, but Life Domain can make up for that with it's bonuses. Grave Domain can shine as well, any target with 0 HP will benefit from maximum dice rolls; when you run low on spell slots, Grave can also do a Bonus Action, 30 ft range Spare the Dying to stabilize a dying ally.
2 Levels is probably all you need to have basic access to Cure Wounds, Bless, Healing Word, Shield of Faith and/or Sanctuary, as well as the Channel Divinity: Preserve Life (Life Domain) / Path to the Grave (Grave Domain). Preserve Life is a solid heal option, and Path to the Grave scales insanely well for essentially a no-save, alley-oop for a slam dunk attack.
...Thematically/RP wise? Maybe another option to consider: Divine Soul Sorcerer ... Sorcerers would fit well with an existing blood / genetic / mutation type character ... Divine Soul gives you access to the same Cleric Spell list, and Healing Word is pretty much all you need to help prevent actual death, and for only a Bonus Action. For the Sorcerer, only 1 level is necessary. So maybe that matters.
To answer the specific question: Life or Grave, at least 2 levels. Life for helping your allies live, and Grave for helping your allies not die.
If you do end up getting access to Bless, that's probably ideal for your Concentration considering the party make-up, especially when Extra Attacks become a factor. More rolls for attack with an extra d4 bump can turn near misses into hits. If you Bless yourself, you'll also benefit on Concentration / CON Saves to maintain it.
Limited spell slots, it'll be costly at the expense of healing options, but maybe that tilts the scale more towards Grave Domain with the ranged, bonus action Spare the Dying cantrip. Neither Bless nor Spare the Dying would suffer at all from a low WIS score.
For a MAD build like yours, that definitely becomes a mitigation factor. Blood Hunters probably can't afford to sacrifice CON behind their primary attack stat, and bumping a third stat means you'll probably sacrifice some beneficial feats. Pretty sure Clerics require a minimum of 13 WIS to multi-class. And that's about as much as you'll ever need.
I would change my initial recommendation to be a strong push for Grave domain, 2 levels. Hope that helps
Spare The Dying and Bless will be essential, agreed. It'll be very MAD, but also interesting to balance the two side of the coin. Both my Hemocraft DC and Cleric spell save DC will potentially suffer, however there are plenty of curses and spells that still benefit regardless.
Or you could just stick with what you're doing and pick up the healer feat. Or if there's a fighter, see if they can do it since they get those extra feats.

Ooo yes I hadn't considered Sorcerer...
Very helpful, thankyou. Path of the Grave was looking like the most thematically appropriate and that Spare The Dying at 30ft is a pretty big deal.
Also helps to be able to buff myself after using the Hemocraft die.
Maybe an extra bit to consider...

Could do yeah, however last campaign I picked that up in, we were supply scarce so the healers kits we purchased didn't quite go far enough!
True, they're a newbie so see if they get that inkling to try it out.
