I know the rules say no religious discussion, but this is something that's been bugging me for a while. My AL Lizardfolk Cleric worships Semuanya, Lizardfolk deity of survival for obvious reasons, but its really cramping my style of play that I am forced to be a Life Cleric because that's Semy's only domain. If its a god of survival, it seems to be it should be a Nature domain deity too.

Just because you arbitrarily assign some sort of significance to the bodies of your dead doesn't make me not hungry.
Personally, I've always let my players bend the Gods around in whatever ways they need to fit the character. If Semuanya isn't cutting it, ask your DM if you could maybe follow a lesser deity known by few the fits how you mechanically and in roleplay.

I actually DID start out as a Nature cleric, but I'm playing in the Adventure League where the rules are that you have to use the domain specified for your god in the PHB :(

If you are choosing to play in the AL then you are choosing to play by their rules. What we think is not important in this regard. Even if you, or we, feel that this god's influence should spread into the Nature domain that is not how the source material see's it.
Now a possible work around to get you into the Nature domain: Semuanya's clergy are unorganized and usually seen as local tribal spiritual leaders. Being that Semuanya is the lizardfolks overall focus of worship and deification doesn't mean that minor deities or gods are also shown favor or worshiped. Your Lizardfolk could be a follower of a Nature based god or even simply has reverence for nature and the environment of your people. This lets you play the style of cleric you want but you could always RP that your Cleric also submits to the superiority of Semuanya and adopt that deity as your main focus (story/RP wise)
Flesh out your characters and find a "loop" hole. The AL can feel restrictive but there is always a workaround that most people will be satisfied by (of course talk this over with your DM and party members)

I ran into this issue when I was designing my first AL character and planing his level path. I got around it by in story saying that he abandoned the lizard folk god after his clan was slaughtered and adopted the god of the adventurer who found him and nursed him back to health.

You can read the lore of Semunaya to get a better understanding of it. And just talk to the DM, i mean you aren't changing the concept much. You're not going to like make him into an arcane or death cleric.

Really depends on your DM. Semuanya os a dual diety, both male and female. If you pray for health, and babies then 'She' is the life / Nature. If you pray in battle then 'He' is war, survival.
There are many amazing resources on Lizardfolk. MrRhexx has a great video https://youtu.be/HbVh6MUc2Xs that dives deep into Lizardfolk.

I think the "no religious discussion" applies to real-life religions, not in-game deities!

The gods are weird especially in this case, Lizard god should effect nature and life domains.

What is it about the Nature Cleric you're interested in? Myself, I took a dip into Druid as a Life Cleric for some fun things.
