You don't have to prep things more than once. If you have Cure Wounds prepared once, you can cast that spell multiple times at its designated level or at a higher level for that day. Prepared spells are the just spells you have available for you to cast each day. You may end up casting the same one more than once and others not at all, but as a cleric, you get to tailor your spell list each day to what you think you might need.
You don't assign spells to spell slots, so there's no point in preparing duplicates. If you have Cure Wounds prepared, you can cast it as many times as you have spell slots to pay for the casting.
So preparing spells does not give me extra spells to be cast in between long rest? Say if i am Level 2, regardless of what i prepare i still can only cast three spells?
Yup! You can only cast three spells and only from the list you have prepared for the day. The exception are cantrips, which you can cast as many times a day as you'd like.
Quick question if I use a level 2 spell and I only have 4 lvl 1 slots and 2 lvl 2 slots does that mean I get to use 6 spell slots or do I use up 2 lvl 1 slots along with the 2nd lvl slot ??
Don't forget ritual casting! If a spell has the Ritual tag, you can cast it as, well, a ritual. It takes ten additional minutes to cast a spell in this way, but you cast it without a spell slot.

BUT, you have to have the spell prepared in order to cast it as a ritual. Wizards have an advantage here, as long as the Ritual spell is in their book, they can cast it as a Ritual, even if they didn't prepare it that day.

With Prepared spells can you prepare " duplicates " of the same spell ie ; If i had 4 prepared slots can all 4 be cure wounds?

Correct. Being able to prepare more spells gives you more options, but how many times you can cast spells is limited by your spell slots.
Thank you very much for clarifying!! As you may can tell i am really new to this.

Casting a spell uses up one (and only one) spell slot of the spell's level or higher. If you have 6 slots, you can cast 6 spells.
dope Thanks for the response:)
