Wizards don't get Animal Messenger as a spell, but Gandalf/Saruman both casted Control Weather during the Caradhras duel (in the movies). In the book, it's not explicitly clear whether Saruman was controlling the storm. There's a fan theory that it was actually controlled by Sauron. But in the movies, it's very clear they're both casting Control Weather and trying to counter each other.
Druids and Wizards both get Control Weather, for sure, but Druids also get Animal Messenger while Wizards don't.

It's been a while since I've seen the first LOTR movie. I do not remember anyone casting a weather-related spell during any duel of that movie. Can you please provide a YT link to the snippet you refer to?
As for Animal Messenger, okay, it's not on the Wizard spell list, but that's a very limited use of a beast-related magic power. If Gandalf really was a Druid, wouldn't he have done some far more powerful stuff with his magic to affect plant or animal life? Like, for instance, call on giant spiders to help the party while they were in the Mines of Moria? Or do something to make the war elephants in the 3rd movie attack their own riders instead of the Riders of Rohan?
Gandalf is a Celestial with some spell like abilities. He comes across as more of a Cleric than a Wizard or Druid, in the 5E sense. Radagast the Brown on the other hand is pretty clearly Druidic, though also a Celestial.
This is my answer from the legendary druid thread since it applies but I classified it better:
General: Layla Williams in Sky High (Movie)and Poison Ivy control plants.
Spores: Kinoko Komori in My Hero Academia
Dreams: Sandman (Neil Gaimon) could have some circle of Dreams levels; Isabel from Roswell new mexico TV show
Moon: Manimal (1983 tV show); Beastboy (Titans, Teen Titans, dc comics): Jayna from DC Comics (Zan and Jayna from superfriends cartoon in the 80s); Vixen (Legends of tomorrow TV show and dc comics). Animal Man (DC Comics)
Stars: STARMAN (JACK KNIGHT) from Dc Comics; Some characters from the Roswell, New Mexico TV show
Who are your favorite Druids from the worlds of film, television, comics, and novels?
My favorite is Poison Ivy from the Harley Quinn and Batman Animated series.
Greensleeves:
Magic the Gathering Book Series: Greensleeves, druid to Arch Druid (over 3 books)
Blank
Gandalf is totally a druid, even though they call him a wizard **ducks behind 3/4 cover and casts Shield**
What's your justification for that claim?
