I’m trying to decide between these two feats when I level up next. I’m a Githyanki Fighter 7 (Psi Warrior)/Wizard 2 (War Magic), and taking fighter levels the rest of the way. I have 20 Str, and either of these feats will take my Int to 20 as well. I use an enchanted greatsword with Great Weapon Fighting style and GWM, have a Ring of Spell Storing that’s typically loaded with 2x Shield and 1x Haste, +1 Adamantine Plate, and a Cloak of Displacement. (https://ddb.ac/characters/46753798/7gzNe5). In terms of raw damage dealing, I am already arguably the hardest-hitting character on my server.
For my next feat, I am definitely taking either Telekinetic or Fey Touched to max out my Int for both my spellcasting and my psi warrior abilities, as well as my initiative bonus from War Magic. The question is: which one?
Telekinetic gives me a cool bonus action shove. I do already have some things that I can use my bonus action for (GWM, some spells, psi leap), but those aren’t necessarily ones I can use every turn. This one gives me the ability to (1) pull enemies into melee range, (2) push enemies into AoE, (3) clear spaces for me or allies to move without AOO, (4) push/pull enemies off of ledges, (5) RP a fun non-lethal shove. It also extends the range of my innate Mage Hand to 60 ft, which can be useful not only for RP, but for delivering things like caltrops or triggering traps.
Fey Touched (which I will be flavoring as more racial psionics) gives me a second Misty Step per day. My typical battlefield tactics are less of a traditional tank holding ground than that of a highly mobile power striker. I use Misty (along with psi leap and occasionally Expeditious Retreat) to get exactly where I need to be to inflict maximum damage. My innate Misty has been especially useful for things like escaping grapples or restraints without having to spend an action that could be used to attack. Having a second use would be great. Additionally, I can take Gift of Alacrity as my chosen 1/day spell for 8 hours of +1d8 to initiative. With my +6 from Int and Dex, that would be an average of +10.5 to initiative, which is kind of nuts.
I’m leaning towards Fey Touched, but that sweet extra consistency in my action economy from Telekinetic is sweet too. Thoughts?
Fey Touched could give you access to Bless, which is an amazing spell paired with GWM, besides being so party-friendly and even giving bonus to saving throws. It could be a nice option when you are not Concentrating in Haste.
