I’m trying to homebrew what’s essentially an Eldritch Knight but using Cleric spells instead of Wizard. I’m running into difficulty because they should know all the Cleric Abjuration and Evocation spells and just prepare a certain number per day.
I mostly have it built but the character sheet shows me a red exclamation point because I know too many spells (guessing too many for Fighter of my level). Also, I don’t see a way to say that my character should prepare spells from the known list. Are these options locked up in the main Fighter class settings and, therefore, inaccesible at this time?

Creating a Pious Knight that uses cleric spells instead of wizard spells seems to be doable, but I don't think there is a way make it know all spells and prepare spells from the known list.
Because this is just a homebrew, there is no reason that you can't just swap your non-cantrip known spells after a long rest by editing your character.
It might be due to the fact that Eldritch Knights only know a certain number of spells which are memorised like Bards, Sorcerers and Warlocks - as opposed to the preparation that Clerics and Druids do each day.

I do think this is basically what I'm going to end up doing. It will be functional but not as clean as most of the interface. Thanks for the input.

If you want, you can have a look at my Templar homebrew in the Homebrew class section.
I decided to kept the "learned" spell from the EK as it fit my concept, and because I havent been able to do otherwise...
