It says that Kensei shot does an additional 1d4 damage as a bonus action. I am wondering if like most monk based damage it scales with your martial arts die, or if it remains static at 1d4?
If Kensei's Shot scaled with your martial arts die, the rules for it would say so. Even with just a d4 it's an excellent feature. If your enemies are out of melee reach you wouldn't be able to use your bonus action to attack anyways, and once you reach 5th level you add the damage to both of your attacks.
The 1d4 is static. However because kensei weapons are monk weapons, their dice does scale. So if had chosen a dagger as a ranged weapon, at 5th level a single attack would do 1d6 + 1d4.
If you choose a longbow, you arent going to see this boost for a while.
If both attacks are with a ranged kensei weapon yes.
Paraphrasing, once you use your bonus action on your turn, any target hit with a ranged attack kensei weapon takes 1d4 extra damage, and the benefit lasts to the end of the current turn. So if you have two attacks with a longbow and both hit it would be 2d8+2d4+ (2 * Dex Bonus).

Wait. can you use it for both attacks? I thought that it could only be used once as a bonus action.
