natural armor is natural. By being a wolf, you naturally have this. You are trained to fight without armor, so if you where hide your training goes away. But Wolves don’t wear armor. Therefore, your training still works. Even with earth elementals, since they are humanoid shaped... elementals. Made of rock. You aren’t wearing armor, and being a Druid, are used to being an animal, therefore your training for this still applies.

Your BOOM entry pretty much resolved it.....at least for me!
Just finished Curse of Strahd by being unconscious through most big fights, and revived when they were over. I was lucky the group survived so I could be healed. I was a Tabaxi Shadow Monk. Once I reached the level to use Shadow Step that was almost a game changer for me. Best move was in Strahd's tomb. Used Shadow step to drop on Strahd Death from above style. So advantage on first attack, rolled great second attack, Flurry of blows with a Crit to boot, oh crap I'm down again.
Monks, like rogues with sneak attack, are glass cannons. They can do a lot of damage and with Stunning Fist they can turn an opponent into a punching bag for the rest of the party, but they’re easy to hit. You need to get in, hit, an then use Disengage or Dodge to get out or else you’re going to go down fast. Use your super high move rate and make sure that you’re not there to be hit! You’re playing your monk like a front line fighter and that never ends well.

Yes, that was very apparent the first melee I get into. I made a great entrance and got in some good hits before going down quickly. Luckily, I got stabilized and then fixed up to live to fight another day. Geez.....

I have never had a bigger headache than trying to figure out what Moondruid was trying to say....
