I am working on a minotaur oath of conquest paladin build and I have a question. So if my enemy is frightened they can not willingly move closer to the source of fear (me) and they have disadvantage on attack and ability checks. I can use channel divinity to cause someone to go frightened as an action. I can then use "compel duel" which is a bonus action. My enemy has disadvantage if he tries to attack anyone but me and can not move more than 30 ft from me (it's a wisdom save to try to escape) and is drawn to me. So here is my question....if they are frightened (trying to get away) but also compelled duel (can't get away) are they basically stuck there with attack and ability disadvantage? against
Yes, it could be stuck - if it tried to move further it would need a wisdom save.
Also, one minor correction - the frightened condition does not make them try to get away. It’s the Fear Spell (Turning, etc) that adds that little tidbit on about needing to get away as far as possible. Frightened condition just indicates it can’t get *closer*.
