Hey, I'm hoping to try an Oath of Redemption paladin in the future. I know for their abilities they need higher CHA than others, and a good CON for absorbing damage to save allies. I'm curious what stats I should bump highest first. While I might roll, the DM says if the stat block we get from a roll isn't great we can take standard array. If I have to take standard array, what should I put for what stat? I'm going Half Elf, if that matters.
You'll want a 15 or higher in str for heavy armor. After that, I'd focus on cha over con. I'm not sure why you think cha is necessarily more important to them than other pallys, but either way, it's good to have it high.
Will your racial bonuses be half-elf standard (+2 to cha, +1 to two others) or can you float them around per tasha's?
If I had to do a standard array with standard half-elf I'd go:
15 str (+1 for a 16), 12 dex, 13 con (+1 for a 14), 10 wis, 8 int 14 cha (+2 for a 16). And it could also make sense to flip wis and dex, imo, that's a personal preference kind of thing.
