Just wondering about the Rebuke the Violent ability:
Rebuke the Violent. You can use your Channel Divinity to rebuke those who use violence. Immediately after an attacker within 30 feet of you deals damage with an attack against a creature other than you, you can use your reaction to force the attacker to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the attacker takes radiant damage equal to the damage it just dealt. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage.
So the question is...on a successful save, they take half the damage. A question that a DM had for me, who wasn't familiar with this particular oath was...where does the other half go? I honestly had no idea what to tell him. I know in some attacks, a successful save would mean you only take half damage. But no where in the description does it mention that. For the sake of coming to a quick conclusion we just went with, ok, on a successful save the enemy takes half the damage and your ally takes the other half. Has anyone else come across this situation?
Many magical effects (like Fireball, just to name one) do full damage when the target fails the save, half as much on a success. In the case of a success, the other half of the damage does not go anywhere, the target simply avoids taking the full blow.
This is a magical retaliation ability. As filcat says, the extra damage goes nowhere. If it helps, think of it as the target resisting the full force of the effect (Wisdom saves tend to imply some form of resistance to an effect rather than dodging out the way).
Also, remember that your ally has already taken damage from an attack made by your target, to deal an additional 50% of that damage to your ally doesn't fit with the narrative of the class, which is typically that of a protector.
Based on the description the Ally definitely should not take any damage. Because it's not an AoE attack like a Fireball. The creature just "Takes Radiant Damage"
And even if it was an AoE (which it's not), the ally would have had to separately roll a Wisdom saving throw instead of just saying the ally gets the other half of the damage...

Thanks for clearing that up!

"Lawful Good does not always mean Lawful Nice."
Dose it negate the damage to the protected target
The is no other half to go anywhere as it doesn't exist. Rebuke the Violent inflict radiant damage equal to 50-100% of the attack's damage.
No it doesn't negate the initial damage as it comes immediatly after.
