I have a question regarding the swarmkeeper archetype, it is possible to use the 1d6 piercing damage with a ranged weapon like a bow? or is only useful in melee?
As far as I know it applies to any weapon attack, so send your swarm off yonder. I like to imagine it as if you fire an arrow the swarm is fluttering around the ammunition as it flies through the air

"when you hit with an attack", does not need to be a weapon attack just needs to be an attack roll.
Add insult to injury, go Boros Background (or any one of the ravnicas' that let you grab fire bolt) and smack for the early min 1d10+1d6+1d4 (using favored foe) and yes you'd need multiclass for cantrip abilities but still....Actually, now I'm kinda intrigued on this. Could be fun.

You shouldnt need to multiclass for cantrips. Tashas has a new fighting style (Druidic Warrior) that lets a ranger pick up two Druid cantrips. Granted, Druids do not get Firebolt, but if that is what you are set on you can pick it up through a feat rather than multiclassing

Right now the only way to grab firebolt through a feat would be using a casting stat that druids/rangers dont use (con, cha, wiz). At least this is the only way that comes to mind right now.

What class would you multiclass into that lets you cast Firebolt and has Wisdom as its spellcasting modifier?

Legally? None right now, BUT grabbing the Ravnica background of Boros and then multiclassing into either druid or cleric would then add the spell firebolt to that class cantrip available list that you can choose from.

Arcana Cleric gets two wizard cantrips with Wisdom as spellcasting modifier. I went with Chill Touch on my Ranger/Arcana Cleric, but Firebolt would be fun.

Ah. Always forget the Arcana Domain.

Same here! Yeah that'd mitigate the whole need for the ravnica background too.
