so I am creating a ranger backup character for my friends out of the abyss campaign
ghostwise halfling +1 wisdom
I rolled pretty well
11 18 12 14 14 13
strength 12
dexterity 18 +2
constitution 14
intelligence 13
wisdom 14 +1?
(Or swap intelligence with wisdom?)
charisma 11
(18 was a give me from our DM) SUPER NICE of Him
im taking Gloom stalker from Xgte with halfling so no worries about not having dark vision (3rd)
Need some healing spells (no cleric or healers in the party) I’m not looking to be a straight up healer either
1st level spells
cure wounds
hunters mark
disguise self (gloom stalker)
goodberry (we have been going on LOOONG trips in game where food and survival checks for foragaing for food have been a issue)
Lvl 5 Healing spirit looks good for 2nd level. Lvl 5 Rope Trick (gloom stalker) Lvl 7 cordon of arrows? / lesser restoration? / pass without a trace? Not sure with one Lvl 9 Fear (gloom stalker). Lvl 9 Conjure animals / lightning arrow ? Lvl 11 conjure barrage / wind wall?
is there specific favored enemy I could pick that speaks Undercommon (Drow?) so I can learn the language
I’m thinking TWF with crossbow expert and dual wielder (to increase melee dmg dice to a d8 mainly... but a +1 AC won’t hurt either)
is there a better feat combo for a mix melee/range Ranger?
Since as of right now we have 3 core melee fighter and 1 range spell caster. The rest are NPCs
Not to sure on backstory, as of yet.
How'd this build go?
We have a party of 3 melee classes as well, and a ranger who just archetyped into a Gloom Stalker.
your spell list is essentially what they went for aswell, just wondering if you have any tips looking back.
