If you want to build a Legolas type character, go with a fighter and not a ranger. Go with UA Sharpshooter path. He wasn't a ranger, though he is portrayed that way in the Films. He was a fighter with some wood lore, and sharpshooter would be a good fit IMO.
Yeah, dex fighter, archery fighting style, maybe outlander background and definitely proficiency in survival. Possibly the sharpshooter feat, too. I've not studied the UA that Noobiwan references, but that might work too.
That's right, Legolas is not a Ranger, it's a Fighter with archery fight style. The Ranger of The Lord of the Rings was Strider/Aragorn (but Aragorn multiclass Fighter in the battle at Helm's Deep)
How could it be Legolas in D&D dimension
Elf Ranger
Hunter Conclave
Lvl. 5
He just got lost when he followed the hobbits to Isengard.

For the film version, make sure you grab Acrobatics for shield-surfing shenanigans.

All your points are going to have to go in Charisma, sorry. There's no way I'd let you create a pretty-boy without the stat dump. ; )
I hope good looks can kill, for your sake.

Arcane Archer fighter, perhaps? I'm sorry, I don't remember much from the books and I never watched the movies.
