"At the start of your first turn of each combat, your walking speed increases by 10 feet, which lasts until the end of that turn.If you take the Attack action on that turn, you can make one additional weapon attack as part of that action. If that attack hits, the target takes an extra 1d8 damage of the weapon's damage type."
The rules state that you make one additional weapon attack as part of the action and if that attack hits the target takes an extra 1d8 damage of the weapons damage type. Is that extra 1d8 supposed to be the only damage from the attack or do you still add your weapons damage and then the extra 1d8 on top of that?
Also, is the extra weapon attack able to gain the bonus of a sharpshooter shot?
"Before you make an attack with a ranged weapon that you are proficient with, you can choose to take a -5 penalty to the attack roll. If the attack hits, you add +10 to the attack’s damage."

The general rule is that a weapon attack deals the weapon's damage and your strength or dexterity modifier when it hits; nothing in the wording for Dread Ambusher contradicts that. The word "extra" indicates the 1d8 damage is in addition to the damage you normally deal with your weapon attack. If the attack only dealt 1d8 damage, the wording would say "on a hit, the target takes 1d8 damage".

The third benefit of Sharpshooter can be used whenever you make an attack with a ranged weapon you're proficient with. The feat doesn't care what action or rule is letting you make the attack. Dread Ambusher lets you make an attack, so if you use a ranged weapon you're proficient with, you can use Sharpshooter.
Don't know if this thread is dead or not, but it seems to answer my question. I'm slowly building an Underdark Bounty Hunter type. I'm a hill dwarf rogue about to take my 4th level grabbing Mobile as a feat. Eventually I'll be 5/5 rogue-scout/ranger-gloomstalker.
My question was does the 5th level extra attack from ranger, stack with the dread ambusher extra attack? So with a two weapon bonus action attack, I'd get 4 attacks on the first round, right? The comments above make me think it works.
Thinking of resilient (con) for my second feat. Our party is kinda light on healing and frontline guys.

Hi, yes your weapon damage + 1d8 and yes, you can declare that as a sharpshooter.
At level 5 you could attack 3 times the first round of combat for (assuming a Longbow is used) 4d8+3d6 (Hunter’s Mark) +30 +DEX.

Dear Lord
Yeah, I know right, and some people think the Ranger is under powered.

Yes with two weapons you would have the following
Action
Attack 1, Attack 2, Dread Ambusher Attack 3
Bonus Action
Off hand Attack 4
Thanks!
In addition, I should also be able to move between these attacks as well right? As long as I have movement left.
yes, correct
