If an assassin multiclasses into a fighter or ranger with an extra attack, will each attack on the first round be an automatic crit (assuming they all hit against a surprised target)? Or will just the first attack crit? I'm looking at an assassin gloomstalker combo, so with dread ambusher that's three attacks on the first round. Are they all crits?
If Assassinate only worked on your first attack the feature would say so. It doesn't. All of your attack rolls have advantage and all of your hits are criticals if you surprise an enemy.
Hello...sorry to necro this thread...just wanted to clarify in regards to multi-class assassins.
Am currently debating on this with either Arcane Archer or Horizon Walker Ranger (11th level total with 3 being Assassin)
If I am understanding correctly a AA with two attacks and action surge could attack four times all with advantage and all with crits if they hit. The crit could would also apply on the first attack with sneak attack damage and possibly an AA special shot like bursting shot (2d6 force damage). So you could have 1d8x4x2 (Longbow) + 2d6x2 Sneak (first attack) + 2d6x2 Bursting Shot (first attack) + DEX mod damage x4 + Sharpshooter Damage x 4 on the opening round?
Horizon Ranger combo could have 1x8x2x2 (Longbow) + 1d8x2 (Planar Warrior) 1d6x2 (Favored Foe) + DEX mod damage x2 + sharpshooter damage x2?
Thanks!

It also works with spells with attack rolls. Such as Steel Wind Strike or if you had an attack roll based cantrip.
Thank you for the answers!
