I recently got Dsotdc and saw lunar sorcerer in there. I think the concept is super cool, but idk if it’s really good. It seems pretty complex with not a lot of benefit to it. Am I not understanding it or is that true natural playstyle of it?
When it first came out a lot of people said it was far to powerful reality is it is a good subclass comparable to the most powerful sorcer subclasses. One of the limitations of sorcerers is the base class has very few spells known, luna addresses that with an extra cantrip (with a slight buff) and 3 spells known at each level, they are however a mixed bag so you are only getting 1 or 2 that you would actually cast, you also get a free casting of shield (always puck full moon) which at level 1 is huge (50% more spell slots) and while useful later the power relatively goes down. Lunar Boons essentially gives you a few extra sorcery points . This video by Treantmonk goes into the details (with the context he was responding to people who reckoned every table should ban it because it is too powerful)
