So, I've rolled up a Sorcerer for my current campaign, and I'm trying to make it a sort of melee blaster that can do support or ranged artillery if needed. The link for the character sheet is here. My question is, is Shadow Blade a viable option? It requires concentration, which is a big minus, but with my racial feat, I'll be doing a Shadow Blade attack with triple advantage when I'm in dim light or darkness and I can gain advantage in other ways with my Tides of Chaos ability. I'll make a second attack with my silvered dagger each turn. That turns out to about 16 damage a turn if I hit on both attacks, which I probably will be if I'm in dim light or darkness, an occurrence that happens frequently in the campaign. Is this a viable option, or should I change my spells when I level up?
Since you have a reliable source of advantage, it can be worth it. Otherwise, it's hard to make the case for it compared to, say, Flaming Sphere. But you're going to want Shield if you're going toe to toe with monsters. Since Chaos Bolt is largely redundant with Chromatic Orb, I'd trade one of them out when you gain your next level.

Probably gonna trade out Chromatic orb, because I really love the flavor of Chaos Bolt, and it works pretty well with the Wild Magic theme. Thanks!
