Hello, I just started playing a Wild Magic sorcerer, and I'm curious as to the most weird/interesting thing that's happened with Wild Magic, so I know what I got myself into. I've heard some pretty crazy tales already (Check out the channel ”Dingo Doodles” for some crazy stories about 3.5e homebrew Wild Magic), but I feel like there are definitely cooler things that have happened even still, so share with me, and let's all get a good laugh out of the crazy things that Wild Magic has wrought
During the second session of my campaign, had a player join in with his Wild Magic sorcerer. The party is navigating through some narrow caves when they run into some bandits. Wild magic gets triggered, and he rolls on the table . . . Fireball. Centered on himself.
They're all 2nd level and standing in a cluster. This would have been an instant TPK.
I ended up having the player reroll, because I really didn't want my game to end before we'd even gotten out of the gates. So instead a huge cloud of butterflies appeared around him. Crisis averted.
I once used a polymorph on an enemy to turn them into a sheep, and the DM had me roll on the wild magic surge table. I got the polymorph surge, so I also turned into a sheep. It was really weird.

In our current campaign the Halfling Wild Magic sorcerer was shrunk and then turned blue. We now have a Smurf in the party.
