I have an Air Genasi Warlock as my character that I have been wanting to try out for the longest time but I can't seem to pick a Patron for him. I have thought about The World Serpent, maybe an elemental lord or something. What would be a cool patron for an Air Genasi Warlock?
A Djinni is my first thought, but I love Djinni. Beyond that, look at the monsters on D&D Beyond and filter by only monsters who can fly. That will give you a huge list to look through unfortunately, but it will give you a lot to pick from too.
So have you settled on the TYPE of patron you want? Like the pact itself or are you going fit the pact to the being you are bound to.
Arch-Fey, something interesting from Web DM is the fact that Peter Pan could be an Arch Fey Warlock, with his pixie familiar. Made me laugh but it also made me think how that could apply to many things. Really my question is going to be do you have any motivations or ideas for what your character wants? Do you have any backstory planned yet or waiting on that till you have your Pact in place.
Maybe your Genasi wishes they were a Fire type instead of Air (Red heads have more fun...) So they lean towards the Fiend pact with a particularly fiery patron.
Maybe something crazy like an extremely ancient Beholder (maybe one that the voices in its head agree most of the time, rare) for a Great Old One pact. The All Seeing *cue spooky music* grants you his favors...

"I have found the answer to the meaning of life. You ask me what the answer is? You already know what the answer to life is. You fear it more than the strike of a viper, the ravages of disease, the ire of a lover. The answer is always death. But death is a gentle mistress with a sweet embrace, and you owe her a debt of restitution. Life is not a gift, it is a loan."
Hmm, for water, all I can think of would be Great Old Ones, Cthulhu mythos has to do with the creatures rising up from the depths. Something as another patron for that could be an Aboleth of some sort. The cities that sank under the waves in ages past will make their resurgence and dominate the world once more as it was before the dawn of this world. Or even that the Great Old One is supposed to be able to change you into a water type that you crave to be.
What kinds of things do you want your warlock to be good at doing? Maybe we can tease something out of you that would help us.

I want him to be good at mid range to melee range combat, but mainly just want him to have a unique patron in a way. I like for him to be a guy who is really cool at times but can lose his temper and go into a fury and deal lots of damage.
Eh I got nothing, you're not giving much to work with.

I really do like the whole Cthulhu thing though if that can turn my Air Genasi into a water deal. I knew Cthulhu came from the depths but thought that his power had hardly anything to do with water
Air genasi gives me the themes of air, and thus flight. What flies? Birds. The Hexblade patron (from Xanathar's) has a Raven Queen-based theme. It's not a strong link, but you can definitely tie in a flight theme with ravens and perhaps even an include dark feathers adorning your armor. You should definitely consider taking the Fly spell when you reach the appropriate level.
The Hexblade patron is also amazingly good for warlocks that partake in melee as you seem to want. Additionally, the Hexblade patron gives you access to the Elemental Weapon spell later on, and so provides something elemental as befits a genasi.
You also have the Archfey patron which fits both an air and water genasi, depending on which you go for. The examples for possible Archfey to be your patron include both the Prince of Frost and the Queen of Air and Darkness. Frost suits a water genasi, and the Queen of Air and Darkness suits an air genasi. You could try to theme a few spells around whichever you decide to follow, and the Archfey patron feature Misty Escape suits both types of genasi you've mentioned.
You blew my mind lol but can you explain what a Hexblade patron might be? Like is it a sentient weapon that you create or that a deity created or just a sentient weapon that simply existed?
I looked into Xanathars Guide to Everything but I'm still a little confused on what a Hexblade patron is.
What are other examples of a Hexblade besides from the Raven Queen?
Its basically a pact with a creature of the Shadowfell, the plane of negative energy/darkness. Some other ideas could be Ancient Shadow Dragons, a similar example would be the "Ghost King" from RA Salvatores Drizzt series. A Dracolich with a Heart powered by the souls of a handful of liches from an ancient kingdom (the heart is Crenshinibon). Gods of various potencies have been known to hide in the shadowfell, Drasek Riven as one example who is an part of the god Mask, or at least a part of his power. Many of the Shadowfells notable denizens could also work as an undying pact with liches and things of the like being present in the shadowfell.
Another angle for that I have seen floated around is being in a pact with an actual sentient weapon, like it is calling to you across vast distances (perhaps not even the same plane of existence. Maybe look through some sentient weapons lists and see if any have abilities that your character might aspire to. Like Wave if you still want the angle of air genasi pursuing another elemental subtype.

You should research some of the Primordials or Lesser Titans from the Dawn War. My suggestion would be Mual-Tar the Thunder Serpent. Essentially a giant worm of lightning energy that Moradin imprisoned a long time ago. Should go good with an Air Genasi and would include Thunder/Shocking flavor for fun.

That's my main thing is deciding what type of patron my Air Genasi should have.
It would be cool to have just a flying patron like Tim said and the pixie thing.
i thought about the air genasi wanting to be a different kind but I was thinking more water like.

Any of the Dark Powers of the Shadowfell could function as Hexblade warlock's patron. My Hexblade is a warlock of the Final Breath.
Bark side up, bark side down, it really, truly does not matter.
