My Hexblade turned lvl 3 in the last session and the obvious choice is to pick Pact of The Blade. However, we had no time for Patron interactions as so many other things happened at the same time.
Would I be limiting myself too much if I just kept on using my old weapon which is not Pact?
To clarify: DM said that both Warlocks in the party would get interactions with their patrons during a level up, as the campaign is very RP heavy.
You can transform one Magic Weapon into your pact weapon by performing a Special ritual while you hold the weapon. You perform the ritual over the course of 1 hour, which can be done during a Short Rest. You can then dismiss the weapon, shunting it into an extradimensional space, and it appears whenever you create your pact weapon thereafter.
If it is just an ordinary weapon, just remember, a pact weapon is viewed as magical for overcoming resistances. If you are not encountering enemies that are resistant then it makes no difference.

IMHO, Earthdawn is still the best fantasy realm, Shadowrun is the best Sci-Fi realm, and Dark Sun is the best D&D realm.

If your current weapon is magic then:
