Has anyone played a warlock of The Wild Hunt Patron? It sounds awesome and my GM has approved it, but we only play every couple of months, so I haven't had the chance to do anything with my bardlock yet. With The Raven Queen having just been released I'm tempted to change while I still have a chance. Any thoughts on either?
I am right now playing it and love it, I multiclassed a Ranger Drakewarden lvl3 with Warlock Wild Hunt going to be lvl3. I am using those to classes to make a predator.
Quite the necro post, but I actually really like this pact!
I do have a few thoughts on it though:
Huntsman's Bow could do with clarifying how it interacts with short or long range, i.e- does a spell attack roll with disadvantage using the weapon's long range (if the spell's normal range is shorter)? Spells that use a save DC instead should probably allow saves with advantage at long range.
Hound of the Hunt seems too complicated. Since this was first posted there is a new format that's simpler; once per long rest action to summon a wolf with cold resistance, HP uses stat block or four times warlock level (whichever is higher), uses your proficient bonus in place of its own, shares initiative but takes its turn after you. On its turn it only takes the dodge action unless you use your bonus action to instruct it. Spell slot to re-summon if it dies?
Huntsman's Endurance could just be cold and fire resistance, that eliminates hot and cold exhaustion already and keeps it simple.
Huntsman's Rain I'd probably change to an area of effect using the bow's base weapon damage rather than Eldritch Blast, especially since the latter is not granted by this sub-class (and it arguably doesn't need it except for this one feature), but with the option to swap for cold damage so you've still got the ability to bypass damage.
Bow of the Wild Lord seems unnecessary, and too strong on top of everything else. It would be better to see an invocation upgrading the attacks on the Hound of the Hunt for later levels, e.g- add Multiattack and some cold damage?
I like it thematically, it maybe steps on Ranger's toes a bit too much, but then I'm not that bothered about jealously guarding the purity of each class, as classes (and sub-classes) are really just a tool for building the character you want.
