I've attempted to use the character builder to remake my current Hexblade Warlock, at the DM's request, and unfortunately I can't seem to make the feature of Hex Warrior (Whenever you finish a long rest, you can touch one weapon that you are proficient with and that lacks the two-handed property. When you attack with that weapon, you can use your Charisma modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity, for the attack and damage rolls. This benefit lasts until you finish a long rest. If you later gain the Pact of the Blade feature, this benefit extends to every pact weapon you conjure with that feature, no matter the weapon’s type.) work, it still uses my Warlock's STR stat, giving all of my weapon attacks a -1, as his STR is 8. Does anyone know how to make this work correctly? My Warlock is currently 3rd level.
Another work around is to create a homebrew magic weapon, called [your character's name] Pact Blade. that way you can give yourself the proficiency on the weapon to yourself (if you don't have it from another source) and can tweak the bonuses as needed. If you get a magic blade, then you can copy it as a template, and add proficiency as well. And then you still can do overrides for any other reason.
It would be nice if there was a selection box or something, maybe a drop down on the ability that let you choose which weapon you have in your inventory to denote the blade affected.

This is blood for blood and by the gallons. These are the old days man, the bad days, the all-or-nothing days. They're back! There's no choices left.

You can customize the attack in the attack section. Click on Customize for the weapon attack you want to change.
Thank you, this has been a great help!
As a Hexblade you might not want to dump your Str if a nod to any kind of encumbrance rules is used. Medium armors can get fairly heavy.
And if you go for Heavy armor, you need alot of strength :P
