So, I'm creating a homebrew subclass called Blessedblade that is definitely 100% original and not a direct rip from Hexblade...ok it's Hexblade with flavor change to be less dark and edgy... The issue I'm having is the Hex Warrior feature (cleverly renamed to Blessed Warrior) isn't applying CHA to weapon attacks. I've managed to get every other feature to operate correctly, changed the expanded spell list, etc etc. but that particular bit won't behave...
Hex Warrior requires you to first mark one of your weapons as your Hex Weapon before it'll apply the bonus, though I'm not sure how this actually functions; if it's using a hidden modifier then this should have been copied along with everything else, but there are a number of features which actually just look for certain key names within a class/sub-class, so it might actually be triggered by having the feature be named "Hex Warrior".
Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.

Any guidance?
