My Monk is finally dipping his toe into the dark waters of the Warlock class. Eldritch Blast and Shadow Step shenanigans make it too good not to. Anyone else dipping into Warlock from another class for other reasons?
Yeah, whenever you build a character into a charisma based caster its pretty easy to just start building into the other ones, and grab all the good stuff or rp stuff that you find interesting. Also a cool detail that Warlock spell slots are treated separate from the multiclassing rule related to multiple caster spell slots.
Unless you have an RP or stat reason for it, I'd recommend a melee focused multiclass if you wanted to a 3rd time. Course thats only if you have a something good that your character can synergize with, or again if there is an rp reason not to. But a 3 way multiclass caster could be pretty good if you grab the right stuff, never done it myself though.
I'm playing a Bardlock currently. I'd originally created him as Tiefling Bard with no thoughts of multi-classing. However, after having spent more time and effort researching and creating him, both mechanically and narratively, than the other six players combined (probably; we weren't exactly tracking our hours), he was killed during the first session rather fantastically. He was a hit of a character and everyone enjoyed him immensely. I realized how much I enjoyed the spellcasting that I'd avoided in years prior. So I came up with a pitch for the GM where the character becomes a warlock as well, swearing some sort of pact that he and I would agree to later. I love the concept and can't wait to continue on with it.
Incidentally, the GM agreed to let me take the homebrew Otherworldly Patron The Wild Hunt, but I'm considering changing over to the Unearthed Arcana The Raven Queen.
Got a Aasimar (sourge) Paladin that is dipping into Warlock (undying light pact). With Eldritch blast scaling from total level (and not class level), its too perfect
I started out as a Warlock, but I'm seriously considering going Favored Soul sorcerer from here on out.

Kerrigan, gold dragonborn pact of the chain fiend warlock (8)/favored soul sorcerer (3): Survived Strahd Roland Crowe, stout halfling pirate (7): off working other angles while the party fights giants Alekhine Dorvanellyn, eladrin bladesinger (7): Fighting giants
If your character has decent enough intelligence, I would totally recommend going down Eldritch Knight, just to get that sweet combo with the cantrip into a free melee attack.

Indeed it is. The two paladin/warlocks I've had at my table were murderously effective with that & critical smites.
Warlocks (along with Sorcerers), I feel, are built for multiclassing. If you use Charisma, you can benefit from splashing Warlock (or lock splashing something else). Sorlock benefits from short rest spell slots (and short rest Sorc points). Lockadins benefit from short rest Smites (and Sorlockadins just go crazy). Monks and Rogues can make use of Devil's Sight for constant advantage, and any martial can benefit from a strong ranged cantrip like EB. Casters can benefit from Repelling Blast's battlefield control.
I don't think there's another class that's as multiclass friendly as Warlock. Sorcerer is also a strong option, but comes in second.
My DM forced me into Warlock multiclass from Rogue for story reasons. Was pissed at first, but I've grown to love it, for the extra attacks, the Darkness/Devil's Sight, the other Invocations - and starting each battle with Hex means essentially an extra mini sneak attack every hit (and with dual wielding and extra attacks, that's a lot of hits).
Personally I thinks its best to always multiclass into warlock so the spell slots scale like a wizard. Besides coming from a class like fighter can allow you to action surge to use another spell if need be; combined with an item to activate hast through a free action like a verbal command leads to more possibilities. So counting all the possibilities over or at around level 20; 1 bonus action spell, 1 action spell, action surges for 2 spells, and a hast item for 1 spell = 5 spells just related to a hast item and fighter alone. Add a reaction spell with or with out the war caster feat, like counter spell; that's 5-6 Spells in a turn followed by 3-4 spells a turn. just add stupid antics and you can get crazy... like using spells to push monsters of cliffs... or using you movement to fall on top of a monster if you get ballsy. DM: you fall prone on the sprite that failed a dex save and crushed it. GG.
It may not be standard "Cannon" 5e D&D but I've been using the Gunslinger archetype for fighter from Crit Roll and the idea of casting through a gun with an Arcane focus or making your spells act more gun like is just fun. Besides its a gun just add the hand crossbow feat to eliminate close range disadvantage and shape shooter feat to eliminate long range disadvantage.
Also being able to adding the proficiently modifier to initiative means Han will ALWAYS shoot first.

When all those kobolds line up so pretty for your burning hands....
The Warlock Knight is pretty potent. Warlock spell slots and a lot of Fighter features refresh on short rests.
Obviously decide wether Charisma or Intelligence is going to be your focus. Charisma if taking the Blade Pact, Intelligence if Eldritch Knight is your prime focus.
Important thing to note is that the Thirsting Blade Invocation doesn't stack with Extra Attacks, but is useful for the Warlock Knight, until they get Extra Attacks as Fighter features.
The Bardlock is pretty cool, helps the party with inspiration, healing and is even more effective as a face than a straight bard or warlock in my opinion.
Bard/Warlock just about to blossom here. I originally had not though of multiclassing originally, and then was considering recent events in game where I was relatively useless in a tough battle aside from healing and buffing, and combined with my kill-counting obsessed party members brought me to feel it would be right to grab another class.
I had originally considered doing a Wild magic Sorcerer, but after chatting with my DM about it he suggested a Warlock because of the possibility of an Archfey pact, which matched my story perfectly. It will take a little time to get used to how they cast stuff, but it should be fun!

A Fighter Paladin Warlock is always neat, hit em with an eldritch blast cantrip, and then swing with divine smite for the extra hurt.
Im looking into multi-classing my Ranger to Warlock to gain the Devils Sight ability, too sweet not to take it
Everything in Warlock is too sweet to avoid, all you need is 4 levels in it and you get most of the good stuff ;).
I went bard 1, warlock 5, then upped bard to 4 (so far), works out pretty awesome

I was tempted to multi a 3rd time into sorc, but that might be too much!
