So I have this idea to make an Aasimar Warlock who thinks she is a Paladin. Starting at lvl 3.
So far what I have planned is Scourge Aasimar, Hexblade as my "patron", and Pact of the Blade. Weapon choice will be Longsword. Acolyte Background.
Dumping my INT and WIS if point buy, but likely will roll stats, just have to do it in front of the DM.
She is an Acolyte but not great at spells, or whatever kind of weapons the priests use... so thinking either some Order or Deity that like bows or wooden weapons. She is fascinated by an old family sword that nobody uses, but is hung on the wall. She thinks she should be a good cleric though.. she can help heal, hates evil to the point of hurting others and even herself. One day she grabs the sword and finds she is great with it and can will it to do other things like Green Flame blade, etc. So she is SURE she is the first Holy Warrior (Paladin) of her Faith, or at least the first one she has ever heard of.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Here is what I have so far...
If you want to feel more like a Paladin, I recommend one level as a Divine Soul Sorcerer (for heals and staying CHA based) before you start your Hexblade Warlock levels.
Alternatley, a level of Life Cleric (for heals and heavy armor proficiency) would be helpful, but would require a 13 WIS.

I think the DS Sorc could fit thematically, but I would want that "Divine source" to be my Guiding Angel or something. I really want her to not actually have that connection to the Deity. I think the reason she will leave is that the High Priest doesn't trust her power because it is so different, so he sends her away on a quest that she is unlikely to return from.
Thanks for the that suggestion. I will totally look into it!
