I’m just starting out and was wondering if it’s possible to use a demon lord when using the pact with a fiend ? Or use a demon lord powers like the Demogorgon? Or become friendly with it ?
Up to DM. Not impossible. Just know that you serve a chaotic evil being that wants only to be freed so he can destroy everything, and while he will probably say he will spare you, he won't.
You can indeed use a demon lord as a pact with a fiend. I had the same question as you did so I did some research and found out that no matter what the DM says, you can always use a demon lord as your pact with a fiend.

Are you saying the DM is not in control of what is happening in his game/world?
A Demon Lord is fine to use as a patron. You may want to speak w/ your DM to see if you prefer a Devil, though. They aren't as chaotic as Demons and your interactions may be different.

DM: Are you sure?
Wizard: Yes. I cast the Wish spell and I wish that everybody loves me!
DM: You transform into an irresistible, magnificent feast. It was so great, all who participated in devouring you tell of the joy they felt with tears in their eyes and all who hear the tale only feel sorrow that they weren't there to eat.
Technically yes, you can use a demon lord, but you should talk to your DM to see if the choice of a specific demon lord will have an impact on the campaign or not.

If the DM says yes you can, if the dm says no you cannot. Wr seem to think it's possible so use us as arguments 😂.
I suppose the type of demon lord influences it a bit, but why not.

Demons: Get paid before hand. Devils: They always pay up on time but make sure you have the correct reimbursement requisition form.
