you able to go in and out of it like the other 9 characters?
protects you from spells, attacks and arrows etc is my understanding. does it protect against breath attacks from dragons?
any thoughts on special uses of this spell?
if casting Mordenkainen's Faithful Hound beforehand and have Hut placed in the center or outside, would work okay? does the Hound count as one of the 9?
able to cast Mordenkainen's Faithful Hound afterwards inside the Hut? would it be able to go in and out okay?
able to use the Spell Control Water if cast beforehand or afterwards?
"All other creatures and objects are barred from passing through it." that's where I'm thinking the breath attack of a dragon would not pass through.
we are going to be defending a nice size city with a strong possible red dragon attacking too. we will be around the open market place with a good size river with gates and stone bridge for crossing. i am looking at a good defensive and still be able to cause attacks and damage etc. that's why I'm also looking at the "hound" and "control water"
Under ‘24, I’d argue faithful hound might pass through it. The ‘24 hut only blocks spells of up to 3rd level and hound is a level 4 spell.
To the OP, how big is this bridge? Or are there other choke points? You can use it as a pretty effective barricade, as creatures can’t pass through it. It doesn’t move so they can always go around, and the wizard who casts it is basically stuck inside, but placing it properly can help hold a point.
interesting about 2024. in any case, we are playing 5e, so 2014 rules. im seeing if the Hut will protect the people inside it from attacks, including the various breaths of dragons.
This instance actually came up once in Critical Role (Campaign 2, Episode 75, starts about the 4 hour 12 minute mark) , and Matt Mercer, who is a pretty firm stickler for the rules, ruled that even an ancient dragon's breath couldn't pass through the dome. But it's up to your DM's ruling.
A dragon's breath weapon cannot penetrate a Leomund's Tiny Hut. The only things that can pass through the barrier are sound, light, and those that were inside when it was cast (and obviously their gear), and spells of 4th level or higher.
The breath weapon is not a creature or object, and even if it was i'm assuming the dragon wasn't entirely within the dome when it was cast. The breath weapon is similarly not a 4th level or higher spell, nor is it the effect of a spell.

how about this line "The atmosphere inside the space is comfortable and dry, regardless of the weather outside."
would that not mean no gases, outside environment or as in breath of a dragon etc will go inside the Hut and effect the characters inside?

Playing D&D since 1982
Have played every version of the game since Basic (original Red Box Set), except that abomination sometimes called 4e.
the level 4th or higher spells is 2024 version. 2012 spells are a no go
