A bit of context, I'm looking to make a divination wizard (variant human with lucky) for an upcoming campaign. We're starting at level 5 and the DM is allowing us to select either two uncommon magic items or one rare magic item during character creation.
I'm considering taking an amulet of health for the 19 constitution, allowing me to use my higher base stats on other things like int/dex/wis whilst leaving con at around 10 before the amulet. This seems strong as it means that my stats, after racials and the ASI will be 19 CON, 18 INT, 14 DEX, 14 WIS, 12 CHA and 8 STR (str is still my dump stat for rp/incase the necklace is removed). The 42 hp at level 5 and the bonus to con saves are great, that added to the fact that my other ability scores get a nice increase too makes this seem like a strong selection. BUT, it also means that the amulet is pretty much a permanent attunement slot or else my hp will be, literally, halved and my con saves will be in the gutter. This is in addition to the fact that there are some circumstances such as if we encounter an anti-magic field (or a beholder) that will basically screw me. So, do you think this is a good trade off, or would you recommend re-statting and taking another rare item?
I would go all in on the amulet, maybe it is the only thing keeping your frail body from failing entirely. A Raistlin Majere type problem, you could be obsessed about your amulet never allowing it to leave your person. Could make an interesting side story if someone stole it from you. My honest answer it go for it and put con as your dump stat, get the most out of it you can.

"I have found the answer to the meaning of life. You ask me what the answer is? You already know what the answer to life is. You fear it more than the strike of a viper, the ravages of disease, the ire of a lover. The answer is always death. But death is a gentle mistress with a sweet embrace, and you owe her a debt of restitution. Life is not a gift, it is a loan."
