I have a noble knight who fought along side a hero aginst a dragon. He ran in for the glory aiming to get the killing blow. He failed and was caught in the dragons breadth. He survived with the lose of his sight and one arm. Today he completed his wizard studies and now uses magic to see not only what around him but the future.

Advice - try no to play as a blind character, or as a cripple one. Maybe sounds like interesting concept, but actually playing this could be hard, especially from mechanical part. Ask your GM,will he give your character mechanical restrictions, because they can be crucial - attacks with disadvantage for blind character every time, problems with climbing until lvl 3, where you can grab "spider climb"/"levitate", and so on and so on. Ofc if you start at higher levels it might be easier, but still you will need to counter this restrictions. Or, what will be more likely, you and your DM will forgot about this restrictions and play, but without blind/injury, which will reduce the credibility.

After finishing his studies of magic in other parts of the world, Velundethin Paran Overgreen returned to his home to fix the weave that was causing magic to behave in unpredicable and dangerous fashions. He had studied under the greatest artificers of the age, and specialized in hunting down hivemind type threats (mindflayers and elderbrains, for example). He combined this with his natural talent for the necromantic arts to transfer his consiousness into a construct that would continue to create more of itself, each with its own ability to cast a limited amount of spells specifically designed to repair the weave. Thus began the Paran patrol, a fleet of arcanomechanical beings all with the same desires and will, working to keep magic under control until someone smarter comes by to provide a better fix.
This is more of an end game for my current wizard concept, but I think it still works.
Warforged Diviner - PAPPA (Pattern Analysis, Probability & Predictive Applications) , Constructed to aid in developing plans for war, is able to predict what an opponent will do by crunching the probability numbers and anticipating most likely responses. Since the end of the War, he has found work in adventuring companies , putting his skills to use again.
I'm playing a enchanter currently who is 100% escalation based. He tries to talk things out, if that doesn't work he's burning down the village the next scene.
Bladesinger Half Drow, with multiclass in Rogue for "Expertise".
Background: Entertainer
...so he's a wizard who acts like a bard. He likes playing music in taverns, and his Expertise let's him both Persuade & Deceive with the best of them.
The "Prodigy" feat gains him Expertise in "Performance", showing a gradual progression in his musical skills.
His wizardry, ironically, is simply a hobby for him.
He even "inspires" his allies in combat...just in the form of spells. "Enlarge/Reduce", "Dragon's Breathe", "Haste"...any buff spells he casts he'll just shout "Inspired!".
Getting ready to start the second story arc in our Doomed Forgotten Realms campaign(I have been DM’ing, but another DM will be picking up the campaign shortly…the party just got 5th Level). I’ve brought in an NPC a couple sessions ago that I will be playing when I step down as DM in a couple more sessions. Keep in mind this setting is an apocalyptic version of the Sword Coast where the villains and forces of evil have triumphed in each of the main adventures published by WotC for 5th Edition, with Vecna as ultimate antagonist.
Adramalek of Thay, aka “Malek”, aka Adjalar Thrul. Expatriate Thayan Red Wizard from an infamous noble Thayan line(his great grandfather Aznar Thrul was the former Zulkir of Evocation and brutal Tharchion of the southernmost Thayan province of Priador until his death by assassination by Szass Tam in 1375DR.). Former member of the Thayan Resurrection faction(anti-Szass Tam revolutionaries), later dwelling peacefully in Port Nyanzaru in Chult(as far away from Thay as he could get) when the Death Curse descended on Faerun. He now portrays himself as an itinerant peddler and merchant of minor magical trinkets and such, traveling the Sword Coast north. His former mistress, Sirikhan, now the current Zulkir of Abjuration, has agents looking for her wayward apprentice. He maintains the outward guise of a Red Wizard(red robes and shaved head/arcane tattoos), because even in the Doomed Forgotten Realms, folks tend to give a Red Wizard of Thay a wide birth and at least a modicum of respect.

Hi! My pronouns are they/them. I've recently started DMing, so I'm not very experienced (yet).
