If your DM allows Feats you can take the Feat "Magic Initiate: Wizard" and be able to cast Find Familiar if you choose that spell.

Or you could take ritual caster: wizard as a feat. Then you could potentially learn other ritual wizard spells. If that or magic initiate works better will depend on your build. Though ritual caster would require a 13 int, where magic initiate would not.
Interesting point. I'd always taken the requirement to mean, RAI, int if you take it for wizard (etc), and wis for cleric (etc). But then there's cha based casters, and no cha requirement, so I guess I was putting on more restrictions than there should be.
Here are the ritual wizard spells I have found to be very useful
Detect Magic, Comprehend Languages, Find Familiar, Identify, Tensor's Floating Disk
Skywrite
Waterbreathing, Leomund's Tiny Hut
none
Rary's Telepathic Bond
Skywrite is a great communication spell for people within say 10 miles. Waterbreathing has little reason to be cast EXCEPT as a ritual. Rary's is perfect for when you need to talk to the leader while he is negotiating a deal.
Hi, new to D&D so i was just wondering if a cleric can learn find familar at any point
Normally no.

thanks a lot mate. ill ask my dm
Ritual Caster only requires Intelligence 13 or Wisdom 13. If you're a Cleric you'll have Wisdom 13 so Ritual Caster is good to go.

I'm thinking I'll take Ritual Caster for my Arcana Cleric. It fits the idea of him being a student of the arcane, and Leomund's Tiny Hut is great.
