It has been asked a lot. If you do a google search specifying dndbeyond.com as the domain, you’ll find a ton of threads. Don’t bother with the search tools on thid site for such a search, they are useless for forum searches. Here is the short version of the answer. 1) homebrew classes are a wide open field, and there is no way the developers can anticipate or code for all the possible mechanics homebrewers can create. The human brain is creative, imaginative, and flexible. Computers are literal and rigid; adapting to new things means a massive recoding effort. (Witness Tasha’s, or the incomplete aspects of Theros). 2) the first priority of DDB is to reflect the official rules. There are lots of aspects of those rules that aren’t addressed here yet (life cleric healing bonuses, gnome illusionist cantrip, divine soul spell swap, rage, mage armour, exhaustion, just to name a few. Those take priority over homebrew classes, as do adding in the new book releases.
Im sorry if this is asked alot but its both a suggestion/request and a question.
Why can we create subclasses but not full on classes?

i suppose thats fair. the 1 class i made uses its own "special class feature" that acts as the vehicle to balance it
