I would really love it if the example monsters in the Monster Features table in chapter 9 of the DMG could link to their respective stat blocks. I realize these monsters don't fit the typical use case for linking, since they're not bolded in the DMG. However, I think it's worth making an exception given the way the table is meant to be used. Pretty much any time I use the table to make a custom monster I end up having to search for the relevant monster's stat block to make sure I'm applying effect correctly. Having links directly in the table would streamline that process a lot.
This would indeed be welcome. I don't think it's related to them not being in bold in the DMG, although it could be. In the early days of DDB, a lot of stuff in tables didn't get linked. (I remember complaining about the lack of linking in some tables in TOA, for example). A while back, the content team started working on revamping old titles, adding more linking, etc. : If memory serves, Curse of Strahd was the first to get such treatment. Hopefully the DMG (&TOA) will get some love eventually. That was all pre-Tasha's, and the content team has been absorbed with Tasha's more recently, so I think it may be a while, but I absolutely second your suggestion.
We do intend to go back and give a lot of the earlier books (such as Monster Manual and Tomb of Annihilation) some extra love to bring up to our current standards (as Arwen pointed out with Curse of Strahd and Tales from the Yawning Portal) but there's no ETA as to when this'll occur.

I just noticed that this table in the DMG was updated to include links to the listed monsters. Thanks! It's already making a difference for me.
