Can threads just auto-lock if no one posts in them for more than ... 3-6 months. Pick any reasonable timeframe. Not a day goes by I don’t see some revived year-4 old thread.
Thread-necromancy is defined as reviving an old thread for no reason other than bumping it to the first page or offering your opinion on a discussion that concluded over 6 months previously, without offering new information. If you have nothing to add to the discussion, move on. Thread authors may reply to their thread if they have made a significant update to the original post.
We do not auto lock threads so that new information can be added to an older topic without needing to start a new thread.

What is Thread Necromancy I just got a warning for it
It's posting in a thread that hasn't been active for at least 6 months. The warning was for posting in the Urd thread that hadn't had a post in a year and a few weeks.
A single warning isn't bad (it a "you should learn from this" moment).
"Thread Necromancy." That's kind of funny. What would "Thread Evocation" or "Thread Enchantment" be. How would all other schools of magic apply to how users respond to threads?

Anyway, lets see.
Thread Abjuration: thread locked
Thread Conjugation: moving a thread to a different subforum
Thread Divination: using the forum search bar
Thread Enchantment: Changing the flow of discussion in a thread (also this)
Thread Evocation: New thread
Illusion Thread: Thread deleted before you even clicked on it (was it even there?).
Thread Necromancy: this
Thread Transmutation: Adding a poll.

It's replying to a thread that's been inactive for a long time, something in the order of weeks or months.
