I guess that the localized versions of dnd beyond are still a thing of the far future, but would it meanwhile be possible to have an option that allows you to display metric values rounded in 0.5 steps (like in the printed localized products)?
So how about it, D&D Beyond folks, you've presumably got the numbers in the Italian version, why not add conversions, even if just as bracketed extras? For everyone in the rest of the world, it would make visualising a scene easier to have a description giving a height or distance in a unit of measurement we're familiar with.
As was said in the second post, when wotc devices to do metric as an option in an official product, DDB will match. And this doesn't mean if the Japanese/German/whatever version has metric, so here it is in the English one; wotc would have to release an English metric version. DDB offers exactly what has been printed, no making new stuff up
You know, there's this thing about contracts: they can be renegotiated. And this isn't about making things up, it's about providing access to selective additional content. The original books don't include handy floating infotext or hyperlinks, either, and those are added.

When Wizards of the Coast produce an official product that does this, it will be available on D&D Beyond. :)

It's not published by Wizards but by Galeforce ,9 as they own the licence for all non english publications. It's still ye olde Player's Handbook.
Does the Italian compendium of the PHB have metric conversions?
idk if the italian PHB does, but the german PHB definitely has metric numbers for spells and movement speed.

Renegotiating contracts is a huge deal and it's something companies avoid doing.
Also, I'm pretty sure the whole "DDB matching print product exactly" is a big detail in whatever contract was originally signed.
And there's a big difference between hyperlinking something that already exists and adding new information that doesn't.
Again, this is down to WotC not DDB.

Make it
metric!
converting with a button would be ideal. It’s annoying to figure out weights and distances during narration. It means nothing when its in imperial.
