I noticed that the compendium does not have a description of magic item rarity and when it is recommended to distribute items of varying rarities. Of course this is all up to the DM, if she wants to drop a +5 Holy Avenger and a Robe of the Archmagi on a party of 1st level characters that is completely up to her and and what is appropriate for her story. But if she just does not remember what level is quite appropriate for an uncommon item and wants to look it up really quick, it may be nice to have it int he Magic Item compendium listing.
The Magic Item rules is identical to the OGL, which leaves out any discussion of rarity. Which is odd, because magic items are definitely listed by rarity in the OGL. This seems like an oversight on WotC's part, as at least a general description of rarity should be included. (The DM guide definitely includes lots about this, so it'll be included in that paid add-on.)

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.
AHA! Okay, that makes sense, I just did not realize that rarity rules were not a part of the OGL/SRD. That answers that question :D
