when you go to the specific page for an item ( spell, equipment, monsters etc ), the information presented should probably be tabbed to help organise it further ... for example:
a piece of armour has its full description page in the manual
when you go to that page you see on the default / main tab:
the artwork for it
general description
summary of most pertinent specifications
but then you can switch to other tabs ( or perhaps even click items on the general tab to go directly to whatever tab the details are on ), and you'll get vastly more detail of that perspective / view of the item in question
so for example if you click the artwork, you'll go to an artwork tab where each part of the item is intricately detailed
or if you click on the "time to manufacture", you'll go to a tab in which the details of manufacture are broken down
I think this would be another great idea for the Home Brew content what a DM can enter in specific detail about the item for his campaign so that his players can appreciate the details of it.
Is there an article about what the homebrew actually is? I followed the link on your other comment, but I've been away from D&D for some time, so I don't even know what SRD is
Thats all the current content will contain until later phases they will add additional content, like the full PHB, MM, DMG, Volo's, ect.
Phase 3 of the beta (currently in phase 1) will contain the Campaign management toolset as well as the Home Brew content management system. They have not posted much info on Phase 2 and 3 yet but hopefully they will soon. This pinned thread here is a good starting spot:
I feel that on the main menu selection, equipment would be a better title head than items. I feel that as a new player I didn't realize the difference and was quite confused when I went to items and only magic items showed up.
Thanks for that ... so the SRD is just the core parts of PHB & DMG ( by the looks of it from a brief glance )? ... have you got a link that explains what homebrew is by any chance?

Thats pretty much it ya. Its the "license free" version that Wizards released for people to create their own content. "Home Brew" is essentially what someone would create using those rules or altering rules. So in theory anything that isnt already a part of PHB, DMG, or other official Wizards content that someone creates and is of their own design would be considered "Home Brew". Examples would be most of whats on the Dungeon Master's Guild. In theory this app in its later phases will have a management system to organize, share, and implement All this additional Content.

Interesting, the only potential issue i could see with that is that not all "items" are wearable. Some items like potions, scrolls, and wonderous items don't really suit the word "equipment" either. But i think in general it might be more clarity than just "items". The other problem is that currently the items tab doesn't show any non-magic items.
Ok, so the SRD and HomeBrew are kinda like open sourcing the free edition
on the subject of naming and semantics, "equipment" does not necessarily mean "wearable" ... it just means: that which is able to be equipped ... and since any object may potentially be "equipped" to any other object, or into a hand, or even metaphorically "equipped" to a situation ( in its most generic sense ) - it really just means "that which has utility and may thus be equipped to suit a function".

Keep the feedback coming though, this is exactly what they are asking for.

Agreed, items is too generic, as ahierarchy it should be:
