When I'm considering spending money to expand my D&D content, I expect some transparency. I’m looking to create an Oath-breaker Paladin, and I’ve read it’s supposedly in the Dungeon Master's Guide—but there’s zero clarity on what I’d actually unlock. Why would I buy a book without knowing what I'm getting within the D&D beyond system? This lack of straightforward information just killed any chance of me spending on what would've been an impulse buy.
You can see the table of contents of books you don't have.
IF you're looking at the 2014 DMG, it has the oathbreaker. The 2024 one may or may not. (2024 is the easier one to find, you've got to dig a little to find the old one.)
On the store page for the 2014 DMG, where does it explicitly say I will unlock the oathbreaker subclass? The lack of transparency in what I am meant to get access to is ludicrous now that al la carte purchasing has been disabled.

On the actual store page? No idea, and I can't be bothered to poke around to figure out how to get to the TOC from the store page. Maybe you can't. It seems like an excessive purchase to me just to get that one subclass, and the page certainly gives you an overview of what you're buying.
Now, in the TOC, it explicitly lists the oathbreaker.
You're on the wrong site if you want transparency, DDB don't believe in communicating with their customers, or giving them any information they don't have to.
*However* you can still see the list of unlocks in each book through the mobile app. God knows why they removed this information from the website, but they haven't removed it from the app (yet).
Right, but yeah that is the point I'm trying to make. I was buying it because I have a one shot but kinda liked the idea of trying out this class further etc etc.
I do appreciate you trying to help and point me in the right direction though. So thank you for that. I'm just having a whinge at the extremely poor design and clarity of information given when trying to make a decision on a purchase (and considering there was some modifiers last night that would have made me more inclined to purchase it as well, they missed out).
Yeah, I 100% agree. The old store was much better at showing what you were actually getting. The new one has a lot of pretty artwork, and adverts for what DnDBeyond is, but it's pretty vague on what you get from the actual book.
