I'm pretty goddamn angry about this, as this is the second time this has happened, but I'll try and keep it civil.
So previously I had posted a bunch of my own work here, had some of it accepted, and then eventually had it removed because of "copyright violation." This was work that I had posted previously on the DM's Guild (pay-what-you-want), which was the copyright in question.
I talked to the mod team, then, and got most of my content restored (with caveats). I felt then that there wasn't yet a clear idea of what content was acceptable and what wasn't, so I removed my content from Beyond and decided to let it sit for a month before trying again.
A month passed. I tried again, everything was accepted, easy-peasy, no hassle. Well OK, I thought, it seems like Beyond has finally settled down into a workable service.
Turns out, mistake number one.
Mistake number two was when I decided to post additional spells, this time using a picture from the cover of my DMsG content, to illustrate where it was from. All art on the cover is public domain, and all writing done on the cover is my own writing. Nevertheless, each individual new spell I posted was rejected, because of "copyright" against myself, again. This time, it specifically listed the image as being a violation of copyright.
I figured, okay, whatever. I don't want to do the moderation tango again, so I cropped the cover picture so that the only thing showing was a public domain image (Stormy Coast Scene After a Shipwreck by Horace Vernet, for reference). Surely they can't copyright claim a public domain image, I thought, going to bed for the evening.
Woke up this morning to find that not only had all my new spells been rejected, but that ALL the spells I had submitted INCLUDING the ones accepted months ago were retroactively rejected, ALL for copyright claims against myself.
Moderators: THERE IS CURRENTLY NO SYSTEM IN PLACE TO ALLOW ME TO PROVE I OWN COPYRIGHT. Stop rejecting my works just because you have given me no tools to prove legitimate ownership of my content.
How in the hell is this supposed to integrate with DM's Guild when this sort of crap keeps happening? All I want to do is post my works here, and then include a document of links in DM's Guild so that whoever picks up my product can have Beyond integration ready and waiting for them.
This has taken over a month of agonizing effort at this point. LET ME DO THIS. This is my copyright, and I should have the final and only say in how it is used.
First of all, discussing moderator based actions in the forums is against site guidelines and rules.
Discussing Moderator Based Actions
Actions taken against a member of the community are not to be discussed in public on the forums. Opinions about specific moderators or moderator actions (locking, deleting threads, etc) are also not to be discussed in posts or threads.
If you have questions, remarks, suggestions or complaints about moderating in general or specific moderators, please contact a site administrator through a private message.
Bans can now be appealed. More information on how to do that is provided in the private message you'll receive when banned.
Second - Your items were rejected because they contained links to outside sources ie. DMGuild - Which is against publication rules:
Links to Content Outside of the D&D Beyond Website
You may not create content with the following:
Links to other websites. For example, you may not create a race and include, "for further information, please visit my website/blog/shop"
"Hotlinked images" - i.e. embedding an image that is hosted on another site. These can become unavailable and lead to your content having a broken image/link.
If you wish to publish your homebrew content, please abide by the rules.
>First of all, discussing moderator based actions in the forums is against site guidelines and rules.
First of all, I discussed this exact same sort of thing with the mods before, right here in the forums. If there is another platform in which I can discuss mod actions, I am completely unaware of it.
Seriously, last time I needed to direct message you lot, I made a specific spell to do it. You cannot do a slapshod job of moderation and then refuse to discuss it.
>Second - Your items were rejected because they contained links to outside sources ie. DMGuild - Which is against publication rules:
THEN HOW IS THIS SUPPOSED TO WORK WITH DM'S GUILD.
This is besides the fact that this round of rejections made no mention of the links. They only ever mentioned the images, and then the DM's Guild copyright itself.
This strikes me as you retroactively coming up with a different reason for the rejection, using that to justify actions that were done for the wrong reasons entirely.
EDIT: Sorry that I'm mad. This whole thing here? This has been my entire Beyond experience so far. I really want to believe in and support the platform, but I just can't get a straight shot at hosting content here.
There is a bug with the moderation rejection, and it only shows the initial reason. Any time something is resubmitted and rejected again, we put the reason, but for some reason, only the very first reason is sent. Developers know about this and are working on a fix.
In the future the gap will most likely be bridged. For the beta - Since us mods have to go through every submission with a fine-toothed comb - No links is the rule. And it's an annoying bug that we happily discuss with users in a PM when they have questions on a moderator based action.
Honest question though: What is the best way to make Beyond work with DM's Guild?
I want to link back to DM's Guild as a matter of attribution: This is where the content is from, go see it there.
Is Beyond one island, and DM's Guild another? Is there no way to bridge that gap, ever?
Badeye is quoted as saying there will be integration between Beyond and other sites. What those sites are, we don't know, and we don't know when. So there may be something in the works there. That's something we will find out as we get to release and beyond (pun intended).
As for your current situation, I would be willing to discuss the matter with you, if you would PM me. I don't know all the interactions you had and I have questions I'd like to ask. I can certainly talk you through this and getting your material published.

Is there not a way to automatically approve links to the DM's Guild? It seems like there'd be just about no way to host harmful content there, as their local moderation team would handle it.
If you had a running whitelist of websites that cannot host harmful content and an automod, you'd never have to check anything except things not on the whitelist.
Hell, you could even publish the whitelist in the rules, and say these are the only sites allowed to be linked to.
There are a thousand better ways of handling this than "no links, ever; so don't even think about clicking that LINK button there."

Thanks, I'll be taking it to PMs in a second.
I prefer forum interaction because it leaves everything out in the open, but if a PM is better able to get stuff done, I'd be all the happier for it.

As of this moment, homebrew is not allowed to have any sort of external link. In the future, if there is integration between the two sites, there will be a way built in that allows for it.
I hope there's an automod in the future, believe me. lol
Right now staff is working on more important functions of DDB and have left the care of homebrew in our hands. We have to be strict on the rules as of now, but who's telling how much they will change further on.
>In the future the gap will most likely be bridged

This uncertainty is really worrying to me.
Even if the users aren't explicitly made sure of the grand plan for Beyond, I feel like you guys should have been put in the know, at least.
There are things in the works. We will not know anything of them until they are confirmed by all sides. We are just moderators - volunteers and regular people like you. We aren't staff, so we aren't included in these dealings until after they are made.
