I already own PHB, DMG, MM, Volo's, XGtE etc etc in real life as hard copies and was wondering if there were any plans on allowing people who own the books to have access to them through d&d beyond as well?
There is no way to redeem physical copies of the manuals you own here in DDB, mainly due to the fact that DDB is not managed by WotC and they work under license from WotC.
The contents here are anyway sold at a discount from the suggested price WotC (used to) offer, and there are many discount coupons going around at any given time, making the purchase even more economic. There is also the option of purchasing only specific pieces of each manual (specific races, subclasses, spells, feats etc.) for a fraction of the cost of the manual, and anything you buy in a manual will count towards the purchase of the whole content (say you spend $1.99 to purchase a subclass from the PHB, those $1.99 will be deducted from the total cost of the full PHB for you).
Another option you have is to use the homebrew tools here in DDB to recreate any official content you migh have access to, the only limitation is that you cannot publish these to the whole community, but can still use them privately for yourself and anyone in a campaign with you here in DDB.
Hope this helps :)
EDIT: To further answer your question: there doesn't seem to be any plans to allow redemption of content already published, mostly due to the fact that there is no way to validate the purchase (no single code associated with each single copy of a book), but we are seeing some movement towards this for future releases, as for example the Essential Kit, whose physical version will include a code to redeem the contents here in DDB.
One thing that's worth pointing out, in addition to the fact that Curse Software has to code up the books for the site, which is a lot of work, they also have work in maintaining the books... as changes and improvements are made to the site, there may have to be work done in keeping the books up-to-date... so it's far from something as simple as handing a person a PDF file. For the amount I play and use the books, it's well worth it. I had already bought two physical copies of the PHB so that there are enough to go around at the table; and with DDB, now I just send a new player a link to my campaign, and they have access to the book... don't even have to pull out my physical book at all. Well, well worth it. It's as if I have an extra physical copy for each of my friends who are playing with me.
You might (or might not) find the buyer’s guide link in my signature helpful. It lays out different use scenarios and suggest what type of purchases (or non-purchase choices) work best for those scenarios.
Wasn't sure how to word the title but anyways...

Born in Italy, moved a bunch, living in Spain, my heart always belonged to Roleplaying Games

Thank you both for your replies! I didn't even know you could buy sections of the books. Knowing that I'll definitely look into buying the content :)
