I assume this has been asked elsewhere before, but I can't find any reference to it.
Will there be any options for custom races, or the ability to modify races to accommodate home-brew settings?
I am guessing not since it looks like all major features have been released and I can't see any way to customize races.
There are more features planned for after release, and this will be one of them.

Any idea of time scale? A month? A year?
There is no timeline. The best we can do is tell you that release date is set for August 15.
