I was trying to create an NPC monster stat block for my homebrew, and the character is a Firbolg. When creating him, Firbolg does not come up as a Monster Sub-Type option (race). Other monster races are represented in the list. Does anyone know how to add Firbolg to that list, or if it was intentionally left off for some reason?
Firbolg in 5th Edition has only been produced as a player race and has not been released, yet, as an NPC/Monster.
If you're creating it as an NPC/Monster, you need to start it from scratch. The race would be Humanoid.

Firbolg is in Volo's Guide to Monsters. That maybe why.

Basically, the only monster subraces available in homebrew tools are the ones that have been used on official monsters.
Firbolg has not been made an official monster.
