Yeah, but WotC probably has an official way of wording/formatting errata changes.
It's also perfectly possible that WotC just sends over a raw document that DDB automatically parses and uploads, rather than manually typing everything in. It could be they got a new chapter 1 file which they uploaded and QA'd without actually comparing to the original.
Surely they are able to log what changes they had to make to the compendium when they added the updated book.
Yes, we had to create such a document in advance of undertaking the work to update HotDQ and RoT.
As Wizards of the Coast have stated, they are going to be releasing the official errata document. When that happens, I shall add it to the errata thread here on D&D Beyond.
If we were to publish our internal change document, it would for certain use different wording to the official errata produced by our partner, which would likely create confusion and doubt within the community - not something that benefits anyone. 😊

Were you ever able to follow up with WotC on this? It doesn't look like WotC ever actually released such an errata document, even half a year later.

If this has been asked before, how can we identify the updates to our books? Such as the Tyranny of dragon story line.
Good question. There is the errata thread, but it doesnt look like its updated yet if it will at all.
DDB has said that WotC hasn't yet provided an errata or change long for Tyranny of Dragons, but if they do, DDB will try and make it available
