I have to say, the game changer and the "all in" moment for me is when DNDBeyond.com offers the all in one stop shop that is now split between sites like roll20 and discord.
Meld them all together and make one unified interface for your players and they will never look back.
A virtual gaming space is planned, and they’ve made some beginning moves toward it with the dice roller and combat tracker, but it is going to be a while. As in—I would say—at least a few years yet. But that’s me as a interested customer, I have no insider knowledge, and they never give ETAs. They have a LONG to-do list, which keeps getting longer as WOTC throws more and more content and mechanics at them that requires additional coding and often re-writing code.
