I've tried searching without finding an answer, so apologies if this is an FAQ. I have a character with proficiencies in various abilities. When I roll an ability check with a skill in which I'm proficient, it adds the skill modifier as appropriate but not the proficiency modifier as well. I can't figure out how to make it add both as appropriate. For example, if I role an Athletics check, my understanding is that it should add the +7 Athletics modifier and also +3 since I have proficiency. But it only adds the Athletics modifier as far as I can tell. Any help is appreciated.

Proficiency is already added in. You have a +7 to Athletics from your +4 Strength and, since you're proficient in the skill, +3 Proficiency.
Lightning Strike - A rebranded Fire Bolt for Wizards & Sorcerers.
Spirit Bomb - A holy fireball for Clerics, Paladins, & Divine Soul Sorcerers!
Sword Dancer - A Cleric subclass specifically for the Drow goddess Eilistraee.
Quicksilver & The Scarlet Witch - A pair of magical firearms for your Gunslinger or Artificer.
Ahhhh...I see now. OK. Thank you.
