Hi! Sorry if this has been discussed before but I didn`t find it.
It seems that the 4th level ability increase (or feat option) is linked to the level on a particular class and not to the total level of the character. For example, if I got a lvl3 warrior / lvl 3 ranger for a total lvl 6th character, I cannot add the ability increase or the optional feat to it. I must increase the level of one of the classes to 4th to have that option avaible.
I can guess that changin this is a pain and even impossible at this point of the DDB development, but maybe if we could modify the character sheets to include a feat even if it is not linked to level increase ( I know that some DM and players add feats not related to level increase) will be (I hope) easier. The abiliy increase is easily customizable by selecting “manual” to enter them.
I see then I misunderstood the rule and thougt it eas total level based instead of class level. Thank you!!! Mixed with other editions... so many rules hehe

Hi there,
D&D Beyond works correctly, as per the D&D 5th edition multiclassing rules.
A character only gains an ASI (Ability Score Increase) when specified as part of a class they have levels in (usually 4th level for most classes).
You could have a character that is 12th level (3 rogue, 3 fighter, 3 druid, 3 wizard for example) and not have yet received an ASI.
